Not altogether abandoned...

Ah, let me stoke the quickly cooling coals of my little blog, and perhaps set it alight once more. A flicker to a flame, and whatever else may come...

So, to make this easy on me—apart from the photoshopping—let me post a few pics of recent purchases. Well, not so recent considering the amount of time that has passed. They are all from about mid- to the end of 2009.

My lovely Guess shirt, with roll-up snap option sleeves.
(Excuse my verbosity if there is a single term for such sartorial appurtenances.)

My mules.  I fear they look a little battered here.  But they are very comfy. I believe they were bought during one of my (many?) self-imposed shopping moratoria.

But, your Honour, in my defense I tell you that I had not bought them, I would not have them now. . .  No, I do not mock the court; I could not afford counsel.

Sounds reasonable... well, logical anyway.

Towards the end of last year, I suddenly had a desire for casual dresses. This was the first of a few. Which is saying something, because I have never known myself to be a "dress" girl. I await to see myself wear them come spring and summer.

And so it is done! The spark sprung, the flame fanned, the fire rekindled. *does a post-blogpost dance*

Long Live McQueen?

So with dental problems mounting, blog comments falling victim to the unresolved realm of cyberspace mishaps, and a general malaise in the air - that is, in my air - I turn away from and instead turn to more pleasant, more (if I may be so bold) giddifying matters.

Mostly fashion, though a diversionary tangent may appear.

About a month ago, or possibly more, I suddenly felt inspired by Marrakesh. Sartorially speaking. I want my nouveau style to be mad hippie. Yes! *rubs hands in maniacal glee* And in that spirit I feel this find at Guess fits right into that look. And oh so versatile it can be worn with jeans or leggings, as a shirt or as a dress. Not that I have bought it (yet), but I am making a good argument for it.

I am wanting to pay a visit to the fabric shops of Main St. to find meself some of the same-styled  patterned cloth so as to sew a tunic type piece. Or a mandarin collared type thing. Something with a bit of length, hippyish, and greatly beyond my sewing abilities.

While at Guess, I saw this coat. I feel the photograph doesn't do it justice. It looks a whole heap better on in person. Either way, I will not be getting it because what I'm really after is a black, classic, knee-length winter coat, the likes of which I have not as yet seen. And, for which, I'm sure, my piddling pesos could never pay.

And if you want to check out a fashion show, I would suggest Alexander McQueen's Spring/Summer 2010. In its own way it falls into my mad hippie thing. It is oozes Alexander McQueen and, at the same time, is so divergent from past collections (that I'm aware of, having not been into this fashion thing for very long). I absolutely love it. From the collection to the whole production, it is exquisite. Even if the look isn't your cup of tea, there is nothing that you can find fault with in the execution. Brilliant!

Ah, so I stayed within the circle, no tangents. :)

Until next time *salutes*. And may next time be sooner than last time. ;)
