Colours of the season: 2 new nail varnishes

A tiiiiny shopping detour today (or rather yesterday for those who would insist upon counting days by the hour on the clock) led me to the acquisition of 2 new nail varnishes for my growing polish family.

They are from the Sally Hansen "Xtreme wear" collection.

The first one is Ivy League (4860-17). It matches a bag of mine so perfectly, it's remarkable. But, apart from that, I think its golden tones make it very versatile. It behooves (just about typed beehives!) me to point out that I doctored the next photo to create this green colour as no adequate facsimile was to be found in my extensive perusals of images online.

And Marine Scene (4860-19) could not be resisted. Perhaps it speaks of a subconscious longing for summer. Although, I think the hue works just as well as an accent to an icy, chilling wintry day.

Ack, apologies for that somewhat supercilious sounding language, but those were the words that came to me. In the same way that sometimes "press" comes to mind instead of "iron"; or, how once when I was unable to think of an appropriately courteous way of asking someone what they wanted without blurting out bluntly "What do you want?" the only alternative I could find had me querying, in Dickensian fashion, "What is the manner of your business?"; or, at the other end of the spectrum, common diction fails me altogether and I use "snip-snip" in place of "haircut", which, I add, must be used with care for it may be misconstrued as "circumcision".

This was meant to be a short post. Just 2 pics... and a tedious amount of blah-blah. ;)

Ramble on!

A few more photos to further my fumbling fashion file :)

My cosy lil grey fabric houndstooth mocs. I suppose, really they're loafers, but I am enamored with the idea of moccasins and I've always envisioned moccasins to be super comfortable and light-weight. In that respect, my cosy lil grey fabric houndstooth *loafers* meet my moc expectations. They wear like slippers for the out-of-doors. (Another one of my 2009 purchases.)

By the way, all of the photos from the last post, as well as these here shoes, were brought to you by the Lady Penguin! *takes deep bow ~ well, not so deep: bends at the... er, knees?*

I wanted to post a picture of a blue casual dress I bought. Unfortunately, I have not had a camera since its purchase and it is seemingly impossible to find a picture of it online. Does Song (the clothing brand) have a website? Googling "song blue dress" is a road to futility, paved with frustration, unless, of course, you are researching the song "Devil with a Blue Dress on". I will tell you this: It has pockets.

Just now, rubbing my sore eyes (finally on the mend after a week of eyelids so sore that even the soothing powers of vaseline are compromised by stinging), I had a vision. Picture a yellow loose-necked sweater with ribbed trim of green at the base and pink forms on 3-quarter length sleeves. Colourful like a parrot. I'll have to draw it and post. :P

That's all for now, my furry cyber-rabbits. Congratulations to me for having managed another post. (Every little bit of encouragement helps!) And I hope to tickle your mental ventricles again in the very near future.

Om

Not altogether abandoned...

Ah, let me stoke the quickly cooling coals of my little blog, and perhaps set it alight once more. A flicker to a flame, and whatever else may come...

So, to make this easy on me—apart from the photoshopping—let me post a few pics of recent purchases. Well, not so recent considering the amount of time that has passed. They are all from about mid- to the end of 2009.

My lovely Guess shirt, with roll-up snap option sleeves.
(Excuse my verbosity if there is a single term for such sartorial appurtenances.)

My mules.  I fear they look a little battered here.  But they are very comfy. I believe they were bought during one of my (many?) self-imposed shopping moratoria.

But, your Honour, in my defense I tell you that I had not bought them, I would not have them now. . .  No, I do not mock the court; I could not afford counsel.

Sounds reasonable... well, logical anyway.

Towards the end of last year, I suddenly had a desire for casual dresses. This was the first of a few. Which is saying something, because I have never known myself to be a "dress" girl. I await to see myself wear them come spring and summer.

And so it is done! The spark sprung, the flame fanned, the fire rekindled. *does a post-blogpost dance*
